What is pscyhological astrology?
Psychological astrology combines the traditional practice of astrology with depth psychology to offer a unique map of our psyche and path towards individualization.
Each planet from this perspective represents an inner primordial pattern in the psyche and the signs are the way in which they express themselves. Each planet has a goal and the sign its in is the way in which the goal is pursued.
Through a reading, I hope to give you better understanding of the areas of life where you are naturally gifted and supported as well as areas that pose a greater challenge. The beauty of astrology is its symmetry, so if there is something harsh or out of balance within your chart, there is always a way to level things out.

Here we will outline the essential themes of your chart and it’s potential.
The goal with this reading is to show you the main thrust of your chart and its energies. We will do some psychological excavation related to the luminaries as these are the most important points of the chart and can tell us the most about our individuation needs. The sun and moon are also where we can learn the most about our early and often unremembered relationship to our parents. This is valuable information as those early patterns and interactions will inevitably color our experience as adults. I will offer helpful suggestions regarding growth areas, strengths, and equilibrium.
Planetary Transit Update
Transits allow us to see how our chart is currently being affected by planetary alignments. Here we can look at life timing and predictions about area of importance or focus. We will go over the major planetary transits affecting your chart for the next 12 months or longer depending on applicability. The goal of a transit reading is to help you best use the energies that are coming your way. If you are consciously in alignment with a transit, regardless of how difficult or easy it is, the effects can be navigated for interpersonal growth and with grace. Additionally, we will look at planetary ingresses into houses as these represent big turning points and transformations of energies.
Chiron-Lilith Reading
We will focus on the asteroid Chiron and Blackmoon Lilith and their major aspects in the chart. Chiron represents our wounded healer and a great source of energy, growth and pain in our charts. It is meant to be indicative of our core wound. Blackmoon Lilith is the repressed, rebellious and wounded Feminine. As Adam’s first wife she was unapologetic in asserting her equality to Adam as unlike Eve she was created equal to him. As a result she was demonized. The goal here is to give you tools to bring healing and balance to this particular area of life.

Hi I am Sophia, the astrologer behind Solar Sylph. I’ve always been intensely fascinated by mythology and by the vivid dreams and otherworldly experiences I’ve had. Though I’ve been nominally aware of astrology for some time, I started studying it with vigor about five years ago. It was around the same time I began keeping a dream journal and seeing a psychoanalyst. I became somewhat obsessed with how accurate and insightful I found the astrological data and how well it intertwined with the world of myth and dreams. It was clear to me that there was something profound going on within the field. It first began as a sort of self-experiment as I was quite skeptical. I would collect astrological data on people I knew and then try to see if it matched up with their lived experience as well as my perceptions of them. It’s an ongoing and unofficial experiment, but personally, it helped assuage my skepticism and give me a personal database of examples from which to learn.
I have found that the deeper you go into your own inner world the more you realize that there is nothing that is really outside of us. The planets are physical structures, but they are also power creative forces within us—the macrocosm is reflected in the microcosm.
I like to think of astrology as fundamentally very practical and that is the way I use it personally and professionally. As a master’s student pursuing a degree in counseling I think astrology is an untapped resource for deep insight and healing. I’ve found that the parts of my chart that I resisted the most and felt like were the least ‘me’ were the parts where I needed the most love, the most healing.
